I can't explain the excitement I felt when I received this review. It has been several years since I started the Guardian WIT series project, so when I made that final edit of the final editions after years of refining, editing and reading it myself.  When I finished that final book, and made that final, keystroke. It was a huge accomplishment for me.

Emily's review just felt so good, I can't explain it. Itw was like I finally accomplished something.  Sure, I'd gotten good reviews for other editions of the book before, but when it comes from someone with no ties to you, it feels much different.

From books 1-4, I actually lived alongside of these characters, their triumphs, their disappointments and their survival. I fell in love with them and suffered their losses with them.  A writer is at a loss for words when they experience such a connection with their story. They can only hope for others to do the same.

Targeted by design (4) really wrapped it up for most, and came to an ending they possibly didn't suspect, but won their hearts. It was an ending I didn't expect, but it felt right.

Now I move on to the next project, already started summarizing and outlining it.

What have you been up to this month?

I put the new project on hold and stepped back behind the camera for my granddaughter. I was a photographer until 2015 when I retired.

However, she wanted me to take her senior portraits.  How do you say no to this beautiful face. How do you say no to such a sweet request anyway.

It has been years (with the exception of a few snapshots) since I've done this. However, I would do anything for my baby as I call her.  So hard to believe we are at that point right now. She was so young only yesterday. *wink* (gottal love that head tilt) We all know how fast the years fly by, but to see these side by side is unbelievable, well at least to me.

How many of you have had the same experience. Make a comment below.

What am I doing now?

Wow, such a loaded question.

I'm working on summarizing chapters for the new book (Fugitive Bride) in the (Blood Woven Lies Trilogy) Below is the most recent chapter summary, I just finished it yesterday. Chapter twelve. I'm looking at a mid-year 2026 release.

Chapter Twelve

Battle Cry

The chapter chronicles Azure's tale as the conflict between the Glowing Forest tribes and Vexis' forces intensifies to a fever pitch.

Following the tribes' successful surprise attack. In response to heavy losses, Vexis declares war and orders all males aged 16 and older to enlist. This disregards the previous Council head Xander Vael's policy of voluntary military service for those under 25. This decision terrifies his son Korath, who is forced to confront his father's ruthless ambitions. Thalia is disgusted by her father's actions and creates a plan to escape with Korath before they are forced into military service.

Meanwhile, the Forest tribes unite under Azure, the princess, to fight against Vexis's oppressive rule. The initial battle is costly, deeply affecting Azure when she witnesses the death of a young boy from her village. Motivated by grief and anger, Azure seeks the aid of a powerful forest beast, the Earion, demonstrating her unique ability to communicate and tame it, which impresses and rallies the tribes. Witnessing this display, Thalric and the other tribe members felt a surge of determination, reinforcing Azure's leadership and their commitment to fight by her side.

Korath and his sister Thalia travel through the mysterious and vibrant Glowing Forest, searching for their missing mother. They encounter various mythical creatures, including the Nawbika and the Rakuba. A member of a tree-dweller tribe watches from afar as the teens use tracking skills to find signs of their mother's passage and follow her path. Their journey highlighted the beautiful, dangerous forest, the rustling leaves, the threat of conflict, and their persistent hope to reunite their family.

 Coming soon!

Enjoy the sneak peek
